Conversation 619: PLAZA ORB / neither man clicked

An orb to appear on the fifth day (or after triubnal) and address the disappearance of the pétanquista, if the player hasn't talked to either of them.

How to use this page:

This is a listing of every "entry" in a given game conversation as scraped from the game files. Entries often contain written dialogue, as well as conditional logic governing their appearance to the player. They also link to other entries, sometimes automatically and sometimes through player action. This page is best used to search for a specific word or phrase, as following the links in this format can be difficult. For an experience that better accommodates the branching structure of these conversations, see the corresponding interactive page.

Column definitions:
  • ID: a numerical index for the entry within this conversation.
  • Character: the character speaking or acting.
  • Dialogue: prose containing spoken dialogue and other description.
  • Conditions: logical checks governing this entry appearing or occurring.
  • Links: entries that might follow this one, depending on conditions and player choice. Most links are internal to this conversation, external links to other conversations are marked with the format (conversation ID, entry ID).

2 Inland Empire Awful lonely here. No ruckus. No old men playing their little ball game.
  • 3
  • 4
3 You Yeah, where did the old guys go?
  • 5
4 You That's just how craters are. [Discard thought.]

14 Inland Empire Home? To work? To get something from somewhere? Who knows what people are doing when we're not looking.

21 Inland Empire It's very unlikely. Everyone scattered once the tribunal started. They're probably fine.
  • 31
  • 16
22 Kim Kitsuragi "They didn't," the lieutenant calms you. "Trust me. I saw the bodies."

23 Kim Kitsuragi "You'll get them next time," the lieutenant replies, looking at the empty crater.
  • 28
24 Inland Empire You'll get them next time. But let's be honest, they weren't even in the suspects list.

28 Kim Kitsuragi "And, I mean... it would be one twist too many if it turned out these two old men were our killers. That's just unlikely. No..." He seems pleased with himself. "We would only have wasted our time here."
  • 42
29 Inland Empire You would have wasted *so* much time talking to these two pensioners. Precious case-time.
  • 43
30 Logic He's probably right.

  • 34
32 Inland Empire No need to beat yourself down over it. It probably wasn't the definitive piece of the puzzle. Still, somehow it feels like May bells matter somehow.
  • 37
33 Kim Kitsuragi "Don't beat yourself up about it. I think I gave you a pretty exhaustive answer about those flowers and what they mean."

38 Physical Instrument Enough with the goddamn flowers already! Are you a cop or a florist?
  • 39
39 Logic It was probably nothing anyway. Just a little thought you had.
  • 40
40 Inland Empire *Still* you can't shake the feeling that somehow these may bell do actually matter. If only a little bit.
