Conversation 1139: DOOMED / ELECTRONIC DOORBELL

This is a doorbell intercom that lets you call up all the failed businesses in the Doomed Commercial Area.

How to use this page:

This is a listing of every "entry" in a given game conversation as scraped from the game files. Entries often contain written dialogue, as well as conditional logic governing their appearance to the player. They also link to other entries, sometimes automatically and sometimes through player action. This page is best used to search for a specific word or phrase, as following the links in this format can be difficult. For an experience that better accommodates the branching structure of these conversations, see the corresponding interactive page.

Column definitions:
  • ID: a numerical index for the entry within this conversation.
  • Character: the character speaking or acting.
  • Dialogue: prose containing spoken dialogue and other description.
  • Conditions: logical checks governing this entry appearing or occurring.
  • Links: entries that might follow this one, depending on conditions and player choice. Most links are internal to this conversation, external links to other conversations are marked with the format (conversation ID, entry ID).

251 Tricentennial Electrics She tries again not to cry. And *still* doesn't succeed completely. Her quiet sobs sound old and distant, as if her voice is being played off a wax cylinder.
  • 254
252 You "Go ahead, ancient recording. Cry then."
  • 256
253 You "Why does it still feel like it's *my* fault?"
  • 256
254 Empathy Real or not, your mirror neurons react: it feels painful to be listening to this.

258 You Keep listening.
  • 259
259 Tricentennial Electrics A phone rings in the office with an old-fashioned chime and someone walks by in a pair of heels. The static is like a warm blanket wrapped around the sounds.
  • 260
  • 248
260 You "Is anyone there?"
  • 261
261 Tricentennial Electrics No one replies, but the static grows stronger like rainfall. Then a female voice speaks out, completely different from the one before. Glorious and *total* somehow. Crawling inside your head.
  • 290
262 Tricentennial Electrics "It's so nice to be able to finally forget."
  • 183
  • 184
263 Tricentennial Electrics "My god, I didn't think I would hear your voice again."
  • 283
264 Tricentennial Electrics "As if my mind's been wiped clean..."
  • 265
  • 248
265 You Say nothing.
  • 266
266 Tricentennial Electrics "It's so nice."
